Solid waste Management

Responsible Waste Management at Rift Valley Roses

Our Waste Segregation and Recycling Practices

At Rift Valley Roses, sustainable waste management is integral to our operations. We are committed to minimizing environmental impact by implementing comprehensive waste segregation and recycling practices, ensuring that each type of waste is managed responsibly.

Metal materials are repurposed to create structures and repair tools, with smaller metal pieces sold to scrap metal dealers for recycling.
Organic kitchen waste is converted into biogas, a renewable energy source. Additionally, flower stems are shredded and composted to create nutrient-rich compost, which is used on the farm to improve soil health and structure.
Plastic materials, like polyethylene, are re-used to patch torn greenhouse covers, minimizing the need for new plastic and reducing waste.
Fertilizer bags and empty chemical containers are managed according to strict environmental regulations. These materials are collected by NEMA-approved and certified Environmental Consultants and Combustion (ECC) to ensure safe and compliant disposal.
Our waste management practices reflect our commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable future, where we reduce, reuse, and recycle to protect the environment and enhance agricultural sustainability.
